Natural Horsemanship training for a variety of disciplines and purposes
Natural horsemanship training can apply to all disciplines and have a multitude of purposes. Lindsey focuses on starting (breaking), hunter, jumper, basic dressage, western, and ground work. Ground work includes teaching games, trailer loading, handling for leading and care, saddling, etc.
Lindsey is experienced working with unbroken, very green, and very anxious horses, while producing excellent results will all levels and personality types of horses.
Lindsey specializes in re-training ex-race horses, calming down anxious or hot horses, and training jumpers.
Training can take place at your farm or the horse can be boarded at a farm closer to Lindsey if frequent sessions are required.
Owners are encouraged to watch and learn during training sessions if possible. This will help with consistency in training after sessions are complete. If owners/handlers are unable to be present during training sessions, Lindsey will gladly provide updates, video, and/or pictures so that you can monitor progress.
Lindsey can also show your horse as part of a training package (either through the monthly training package, 10 training sessions package, or the training guarantee program). The costs related to showing (entries, trailering, braiding, a groom, etc) are the responsibility of the owner. There is no additional charge for Lindsey to show as part of a training package except any additional mileage depending on the distance to the show.
Pricing
- $400/month which guarantees a minimum of 3 sessions per week. This price does not include the cost of board. There are a number of boarding facilities close to Lindsey that provide excellent care. Please contact Lindsey for a list of suitable facilities.*
- $550/month including board, which includes a minimum of 3 sessions per week and outdoor board at West Ridge Farm in Uxbridge. The facility has a shelter, a maximum of 6 horses to the paddock, a round bale 24/7, mineral licks, indoor and outdoor rings, and one grain feeding per day. The herd is a mix of mares and geldings. - $360 for 10 sessions when purchased in advance. (to be used within one year*)
- $40/hr for individual sessions* Sessions scheduled for one hour may run a little shorter or longer, and there is no additional charge if Lindsey spends up to an additional 20 min. This is because all sessions must end on a positive learning note.
TRAINING GUARENTEE
Lindsey is so confident with natural horsemanship training that she offers a training guarantee program. This program offers a money back guarantee if Lindsey is unable to train your horse to the desired goal. If Lindsey is unable achieve the results you receive 75% of your money back for training fees.
Steps to this program
1. The owner specifies the desired results they would like from their horse such as easy trailer loading, easy mounting, going w/t/c, flying lead changes, knowledge of bending/collecting, jumping 3ft courses, etc.
2. Lindsey provides an estimate amount of time/training based on the information provided from the owner about the horse.
3. A consultation meeting is arranged where the owner, horse, and Lindsey meet and Lindsey can assess the horse for dominance, confidence, sensitivity, and training. The horse’s physical and mental fitness will also be accounted for. Lindsey can then provide a specified number of months to achieve the results the owner would like. The cost of this consultation is $40*
4. The owner may choose to proceed with the training program recommended by Lindsey with the training guarantee with no obligation, or the owner may choose to proceed differently.
5. If the owner accepts the training program, the training cost is paid in advance to Lindsey before the first training session.
6. At the end of the training program, the owner, horse, and Lindsey will meet to go over the tasks the horse should be able to perform. If the horse meets the specified training level or exceeds the training level, then Lindsey retains the funds. If it is deemed the horse is not at the agreed level of training, then Lindsey refunds 75% of the training fees. Please note that boarding fees of the horse are separate and paid directly to the boarding facility.

*Additional charges may apply for travel time to/from the farm. Included in the fee is a 1 hour round trip of travelling time from Uxbridge. If your farm requires a further distance, please contact Lindsey for a quote. Generally travel time is $0.50/km one way, the first 40km one way are free. This cost is applied once per visit and can be split amongst clients if Lindsey if training/teaching multiple horses/students on a given trip to the farm.
